A factory floor, not a supplier list.

Kaway Group Limited is registered in Hong Kong. The plant is in Dongguan, an hour and a half up the road, and it has been pressing cards since 2007. Ask a question about a material or a finish and the answer comes back from the person who runs that machine, on the same working day.

We manufacture, we do not broker

The cards are made on our own floor rather than bought in and relabelled. That is the difference between a lead time we control and one we pass on.

Everything under one roof

Printing, lamination, die-cutting, personalisation and encoding all happen in this building. No stage goes out to a third shop and comes back, so a change to a specification does not join somebody else's queue.

Answers the same working day

A written answer to an enquiry on the day it arrives. Where we cannot do something, that comes back the same day too, with the reason rather than a silence a week later.

Production

What happens on the floor.

Most of what follows is the part that gets subcontracted somewhere else in the chain, which is where margin and lead time go. All of it happens here, in the order it is listed.

Stage 01
Printing
Offset for photographic artwork and fine detail, silkscreen for solid colour and for the opaque whites that offset cannot reach. Colour is approved against a Pantone reference rather than a screen.

Stage 02
Lamination
The printed sheets are pressed with the core and the chip inlay under heat. This is the stage that decides whether a card survives a wallet for three years or delaminates in six months.

Stage 03
Die-cutting
CR80 from the sheet, or a custom outline from our own tooling. Break-apart cards, key tags and shapes up to 200 mm on the longest edge are all cut here.

Stage 04
Laser engraving
For wood, where the mark is cut into the grain rather than laid on top, and for the numbering on silicone wristbands, which is why it is still readable a year later.

Stage 05
Personalisation
Numbering, barcodes, QR codes, names and photographs, applied in the same pass as the artwork so a personalised card is one run and not a card plus a later step.

Encoding
Chips written before the cards leave the building, with a UID list delivered alongside the order, so the box that arrives is ready to issue rather than ready to programme.
The story so far

How the plant got here.

Two dates matter here. The plant has been pressing cards in Dongguan since 2007. Kaway Group Limited, the company you contract with, was registered in Hong Kong in 2015.

Materials

Materials, and what we can claim for them.

Most of a key card is PVC. Two of the materials we run change that and the rest do not, so here is the line between them.

Recycled PVC
A core made from reclaimed material
The same card body and the same printing, with a core that is not virgin stock. It laminates, die-cuts and encodes exactly like standard PVC, so nothing downstream has to change.

Fobs, wristbands and accessories are not covered by the FSC certificate and we do not stretch it to reach them. Where a material has no environmental story we say so, because a claim your client cannot verify is worse than none.

A certificate is only worth anything if you can look it up. Here is the one we hold, with the number, and here is the thing we will not send you a document for.

Licence FSC-C195226, certificate SGSHK-COC-331895, issued by SGS Hong Kong. It covers wood card options, not the whole range, and the claim is stated on the sales and delivery documents for the orders it applies to.

What the line can take

The line is built for ten million cards a month and normal production runs below that, so the question is rarely whether the volume fits. It is which week your run lands in, and that goes in writing with the quote.

Material documentation

Material data sheets and the certifications that apply to a given order are issued with it, and go into the delivery dossier under your own brand so they can be forwarded to your client untouched.
